Warsaw (Turkiye Khabar) Poland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Bosacki has described Türkiye as an important and strategic partner of Poland, saying that Ankara is supporting Warsaw in various sectors including development, defense, and economic cooperation.
Speaking at a press conference at the Polish Foreign Ministry, Marcin Bosacki said that during Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s visit to Türkiye in March 2025, both countries set a target to increase bilateral trade volume to 15 billion dollars.
He stated that Poland and Türkiye are both NATO allies, and Türkiye holds great importance on NATO’s eastern flank and in the Black Sea region.
Marcin Bosacki also said that Istanbul could once again host negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
Responding to a question regarding Türkiye’s role in European security, he said that Poland still views NATO as its primary defense system; however, due to changes in the United States’ stance toward NATO, the need to further strengthen national armed forces has increased.
Referring to the security cooperation agreement signed between Warsaw and Ankara in 2025, he also described Türkiye as an important military partner.
