Petition Filed in High Court Against Ramadan Inflation

Peshawar (Turkey News): During the holy month of Ramadan, citizens have approached the court over rising food prices in Peshawar. A petition filed in the Peshawar High Court states that the extraordinary price hikes during this sacred month are causing severe difficulties for the public.

The petition lists the National Food Security, Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Chief Secretary, and Commissioner Peshawar as respondents. It highlights that increases in prices of wheat, fruits, vegetables, and other essential items are making basic necessities increasingly inaccessible to ordinary citizens.

The petitioner has requested the court to order the concerned authorities to immediately control the prices of food items. The petition argues that illegal profiteering violates the spirit of Article 3 of the Constitution and that administrative negligence is contributing to the continued rise in prices.

Additionally, the petitioner has urged the court to demand a detailed report from responsible institutions, outlining the measures taken so far to curb inflation and the strategies planned for the future to provide real relief to the public.
