Pakistani Passport Further Declines, Reaches 100th Position in Global Ranking

Islamabad (Turkey Khabar): Henley Passport Index, the organization that issues global passport rankings, has released a new list for May 2026, in which the Pakistani passport has dropped to 100th position after a decline. However, despite this, Pakistani citizens still have visa-free or آسان travel facilities to 30 countries.

According to the report, in February this year the Pakistani passport had improved to 97th position, while in January it was ranked 98th and in 2025 it stood at 103rd position, but the latest ranking shows a decline once again.

According to details, Pakistani citizens currently have access to 30 countries with visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or electronic travel authorization facilities. Previously, in February 2026 this number was 32, while in January it was 31, however due to changes in global visa policies, this सुविधा has now been reduced to 30 countries.

Countries offering visa-free access include Barbados, Dominica, Haiti, Micronesia, Rwanda, Gambia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Vanuatu among others, while visa-on-arrival facility is available in countries such as Cambodia, Maldives, Nepal, Senegal and others. Similarly, electronic travel authorization is required for entry into Kenya, Seychelles, and Sri Lanka.

This ranking is compiled based on data from the International Air Transport Association, reviewing 199 passports around the world. According to experts, changes in ranking do not immediately mean a major reduction in travel freedom, but rather reflect changes in global visa policies.

The report also stated that despite the decline in ranking, Pakistani citizens are still benefiting from relatively easy travel facilities to several countries, maintaining convenience for short-term travel.
