New York (Turkiya News) – Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, expressed deep concern at the UN Security Council session regarding terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory. He emphasized that Pakistan will not compromise on its sovereignty or the safety of its citizens.
The Pakistani envoy highlighted that over 80 innocent Pakistanis have lost their lives in recent terrorist attacks, which were planned using Afghan soil. He stressed that Afghanistan’s interim government must ensure its territory is not used for terrorist activities against Pakistan or any other country.
Asim Iftikhar Ahmed also urged the international community to take this issue seriously and implement effective measures to dismantle terrorist networks. He expressed concern over the ongoing humanitarian crisis, economic hardships, and restrictions on women’s rights in Afghanistan, stressing that providing fundamental rights and services to the Afghan people is essential for establishing lasting peace in the region.
