403 Candidates in the Field for Gilgit-Baltistan Elections 2026, Including 272 Independent Candidates

Islamabad (Türkiye News) The final list of candidates for the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Elections 2026 has been released, according to which a total of 403 candidates will participate in the elections.

According to the report, out of the 403 candidates, 272 are contesting the elections as independents, while 131 candidates are representing various political parties.

A total of 8 women candidates are also participating in the elections, including 5 independent candidates, while one female candidate each from the Pakistan Peoples Party, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, and PNP is also taking part in the electoral process.

According to the details of political party candidates, Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians has 23 candidates in the field, while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has 22 candidates contesting the elections.

Similarly, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam has 9 candidates, Islamic Tehreek Pakistan has 10, and Jamaat-e-Islami has 6 candidates participating in the electoral race.

Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has 7 candidates, while Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party has 15 candidates in the field. Pakistan Nazriati Party has 10 candidates, and MQM Pakistan has 6 candidates participating in the elections, while Awami Workers Party also has 4 candidates in the contest.

Furthermore, Awami National Party, Awami Pakistan, Markazi Muslim League, Tehreek Tahaffuz Pakistan Party, Sunni Ittehad Council, and Tehreek Labbaik Pakistan each have one candidate in the electoral field.

In addition, Pakistan Muslim League has 11 candidates, while Pakistan Muslim League-Q also has one candidate participating in the elections. The Peoples Party Tower Group also has one candidate in the field.
