Napoli (Sports Desk): Napoli coach Antonio Conte has been handed a two-match suspension and fined €15,000 in Serie A, according to Football Italia.
The sanction came after Conte received a red card during Napoli’s away match against Inter on Sunday. As a result, he will miss the next two matches against Parma and Sassuolo, unable to lead the team from the touchline.
Serie A confirmed Conte’s suspension in an official statement. The incident occurred in the second half of the match when Inter was awarded a penalty following a VAR check. Conte, visibly frustrated, kicked the ball on the touchline, leading to the red card. He also threw a water bottle on the ground and shouted at the fourth official in anger.
Napoli will next face Parma at home, followed by Sassuolo at Stadio Maradona next week.
Other Serie A disciplinary actions include:
- Fiorentina’s Paolo Vanioli and Cremonese’s Davide Nicola: one-match suspensions.
- Lecce’s Aniello Gasparco: three-match suspension.
- Bologna’s Niccolò Cambiaghi: two-match suspension for violent conduct.
- One-match suspensions: Yemik Banda (Lecce), Antonio Caracciolo (Pisa), Joao Jesus (Napoli), Giuseppe Pezzella (Cremonese), Ylber Ramadani (Lecce), Niccolò Zaniolo.
