Belgrade (Sports Desk): World number one tennis star Novak Djokovic has officially announced his complete withdrawal from the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA).
In a message shared on social media, Djokovic said that after careful consideration he decided to step away from the association. He explained that the decision was taken due to concerns regarding transparency, governance, and the way his voice and public image were being represented.
Djokovic stated that he will now focus on his tennis family and continue contributing positively to the sport. He emphasized that he intends to move forward in line with his principles and integrity.
The tennis icon added that he wishes the players well but has now closed this chapter of his career.
It is worth noting that Novak Djokovic was among the founding members of the PTPA. The 24-time Grand Slam champion had used the platform to advocate for players’ welfare, scheduling reforms, and independent contractor rights, while the association had also pursued legal actions against various global tennis governing bodies.
