Islamabad (Turkey News): The Federal Shariat Court has ruled that a parallel appeal cannot be filed in the Constitutional Court against the Supreme Court’s final verdict.
Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan stated in a written order that the 27th Amendment does not grant the Federal Shariat Court the authority to review or hear appeals on Supreme Court decisions. The court emphasized that the Constitution does not permit endless litigation and that every legal battle must have a conclusion.
The Chief Justice rejected a review petition filed against the Supreme Court’s September 12, 2024, ruling, noting that a final verdict cannot be reopened under the guise of corrective review.
The Federal Shariat Court further clarified that under Article 188, the right to review is limited, and once a review is rejected by the Supreme Court, the matter is legally concluded. The case involved a dispute between the petitioner and the Multan Development Authority regarding land compensation.
