Islamabad (Turkey News): Addressing a special United Nations session, Pakistan’s permanent representative, Asim Iftikhar, stated that there is no military solution to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
He emphasized that Pakistan has consistently supported negotiations for a sustainable and peaceful resolution to the dispute. Iftikhar noted that Pakistan had also backed talks between the two countries in 2022 and continues to advocate for renewed dialogue to resolve their differences.
The Pakistani envoy highlighted that any negotiations must respect regional security and adhere to the principles of the United Nations Charter. He stressed that a lasting solution to this prolonged war is only possible through diplomatic and political channels.
