Islamabad (Turkiye News): The Federal Constitutional Court has scheduled the case related to Aafia Siddiqui for hearing and has also admitted for hearing an appeal filed against the decision to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the Prime Minister and the federal cabinet.
The case will be heard on June 16 by a two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan.
The federal government has challenged the decision of the Islamabad High Court, which had ordered the initiation of contempt of court proceedings against the Prime Minister and the federal cabinet over the alleged non-implementation of court directives in the Dr. Aafia Siddiqui case.
At the upcoming hearing, the court will review the federal government's appeal and the related legal issues, after which it will decide on further proceedings.
