Ankara (Turkey News) Turkey’s Presidential Directorate of Communications Head Burhanettin Duran has announced that New Zealand Governor-General Dame Cindy Kiro will undertake an official visit to Turkey on 26 April 2026.
In a social media statement, he said the visit holds significant importance in the context of long-standing historical relations between Turkey and New Zealand.
According to the statement, Dame Cindy Kiro will attend the 111th anniversary commemorations of the Gallipoli Campaign and ANZAC Day events during her visit. These ceremonies hold a special place in Turkish history and symbolize shared memories and sacrifices between the two nations.
During the visit, she is also scheduled to meet Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on 21 April 2026.
The meeting is expected to focus on strengthening bilateral relations, promoting historical friendship, and expanding cooperation in various fields.
