Azerbaijan (Commerce Desk):On the occasion of International Clean Energy Day, Tural Aliyev, CEO of the Black Sea Energy Green Corridor, revealed that discussions are underway with potential investors on various cooperation models for the project.
According to Aliyev, the initiative aims to transmit wind-generated energy from the Caspian region to Europe. The feasibility study has been completed, and at the current stage, stakeholders are evaluating potential collaboration mechanisms with investors.
Project Details:
- The submarine cable will directly link Georgia and Romania, integrating the power grids of the South Caucasus and Southeast Europe.
- The corridor will span 1,155 km, with a voltage of 525 kV and a capacity of 1,300 MW.
- Completion is expected by 2032.
The project represents a significant step toward enhancing cross-regional renewable energy infrastructure and attracting international investment in sustainable power transmission.
