Kyiv (Turkiye News) – A new group of children being sent for rehabilitation with the support of Azerbaijan has departed from Kyiv for Azerbaijan.
According to reports, the group consists of children from refugee families displaced from the city of Mariupol.
The departure ceremony was attended by Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev and Embassy Counselor Farid Babayev.
On the occasion, the ambassador said that Azerbaijan continues to play an active role on humanitarian grounds and that receiving Ukrainian children for rehabilitation in the country is part of this ongoing effort.
He noted that more than 630 Ukrainian children have already benefited from rehabilitation programs in Azerbaijan, and that this humanitarian mission will continue in the future.
Deputy Mayor of Mariupol Yuriy Pivovarov said that more than 30 children are being sent in this phase. He added that these children from Mariupol are being provided rehabilitation opportunities in Azerbaijan for health and recovery purposes.
He thanked the government of Azerbaijan, calling the initiative a remarkable example of humanitarian support that offers hope for a better future for affected children.
