Baku (Turkey News) President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with a delegation led by Chief Minister of Punjab, Pakistan, Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
According to the report, Maryam Nawaz Sharif conveyed the good wishes and greetings of her father Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif to the President of Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for these goodwill messages and requested that his own good wishes be conveyed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
During the meeting, the President recalled the historical friendly relations between the leadership associated with Quaid-e-Azam Pakistan and former leaders of both countries.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed her happiness over attending the World Urban Forum (WUF13) and thanked the President of Azerbaijan, stating that the forum is being held at a high level, where important issues such as urbanization and global urban development are being discussed.
She praised the beauty and modern urban development of Baku, saying that the city represents an excellent blend of culture and modern architecture.
During the visit, she also paid tribute at the mausoleum of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of modern Azerbaijan, in Baku.
The discussion highlighted satisfaction over the brotherly and strategic relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan and explored ways to enhance cooperation in political, economic, diplomatic, defense, and other sectors.
It was also noted that progress is being made in regional cooperation, with significant opportunities for expanding trade. The establishment of “ASAN Service” model centers of Azerbaijan in Pakistan was also appreciated.
President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that the relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are not only bilateral but are also rapidly developing in the form of trilateral cooperation between Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Pakistan.
