Lahore (Turkiye News): Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced a major relief package for farmers, stating that the government is taking all possible measures to protect and financially support the agricultural community.
According to the Chief Minister, financial assistance will be provided to wheat farmers in Punjab who own up to 25 acres of land, aiming to ease their difficulties.
She stated that a subsidy of Rs. 150 per liter will be provided on 10 liters of diesel per acre, with the objective of reducing rising production costs.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that the impact of rising global oil prices is also being felt in Pakistan, causing challenges for farmers; however, the government stands firmly with them.
She emphasized that she is personally overseeing the process to ensure that the subsidy system remains transparent and effective so that financial benefits reach every farmer directly.
The Chief Minister further added that farmers are the backbone of the province’s economy, and the government will continue to take practical steps to safeguard their rights.
