Azerbaijan (Showbiz Desk): Leyla Aliyeva visited the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, where she was received by Ethiopia’s Minister of Planning and Development, Fitsum Assefa Adela, according to reports.
A traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony was organized in honor of Leyla Aliyeva, highlighting the country’s rich and ancient cultural heritage. Guests were briefed on the historical significance of the ritual, after which freshly prepared Ethiopian coffee, known for its distinctive aroma and flavor, was served.
Later, Leyla Aliyeva visited the Ethiopian Science Museum, where she was welcomed by the Head of the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister for Cabinet Affairs, Alemtsihay Paulos.
Spread over an area of seven hectares, the Ethiopian Science Museum was opened to the public in October 2022. The museum features two grand buildings, with 80 percent of the surrounding area consisting of lush green spaces. The expansive complex has been designed as a scientific research center aimed at preserving achievements in both ancient and modern technology and passing them on to future generations.
The project is the result of initiatives led by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and showcases modern, interactive scientific and technological exhibitions. The complex also incorporates sustainable design elements, including solar panels and a planetarium.
The Science Museum plays a key role in promoting innovation among young people and equipping them with modern digital skills, while also serving as a major venue for large technology conferences and events. Since its inauguration, the museum has attracted exceptional interest from youth, with more than seven million children having visited so far. The complex stands as a milestone in Ethiopia’s digital transformation journey, presenting a harmonious blend of advanced technology and traditional heritage.
