Occupied Jerusalem (Monitoring Desk) – Israel has announced the deployment of additional security forces around Al-Aqsa Mosque during Ramadan to maintain safety as millions of worshippers visit.

According to international media, Al-Aqsa Mosque is located in East Jerusalem, which Israel occupied in 1967. Senior officer Ariad Bryumen of the Jerusalem Police stated that soldiers will be stationed inside the compound day and night, while thousands of additional police officers will be present during prayer times.

He added that 10,000 entry permits have been recommended for Palestinians from the West Bank, though the final number and conditions will be determined by the government. The Palestinian Jerusalem Governorate stated that initially, these permits will be issued for men over 55 and women over 50 years of age.
