Germany (Monitoring Desk): German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has stated that the days of the Iranian government are numbered, as it maintains power through violence and terror against its own people.
According to international news agencies, Merz made the remarks during a joint press conference with Romanian Prime Minister Elié Bolojan, saying that the current Iranian regime no longer has any moral or political justification for governance.
The Chancellor emphasized that any system that can survive only through force and oppression is truly nearing its end. He added that ongoing protests in Iran could lead to a regime change within weeks, as the current government lacks public support.
It is worth noting that nationwide protests that began in late December 2025 have resulted in over 3,000 deaths and more than 5,000 arrests in Iran.
