Iran-US Tensions: Over 500 Flights Canceled

Islamabad (Turkey News): The ongoing conflict between Iran and United States has affected air travel across several countries, including Pakistan, severely disrupting the Middle East flight network. Over the past three days, more than 500 domestic and international flights have been canceled, leaving thousands of passengers stranded at various airports.

Sources reported that in addition to passenger flights, cargo services have also been suspended, halting the delivery of food items and other goods. No clear announcement has yet been made regarding the resumption of flights.

According to Pakistan Airport Authority statistics, over 500 flights arriving and departing from different airports across the country have been canceled. Officials stated that the situation arose due to the closure of airspace in some countries. Currently, only limited flights between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are operational.

Meanwhile, senior leader Khawaja Ayub Naseem of the Travel Agents Association said that uncertain conditions and fear are causing Umrah pilgrims to postpone their trips. Many had booked tickets via Dubai, several of which are being canceled. Although ticket refunds are possible, non-refundable hotel bookings pose a significant financial risk to the travel industry.

Officials warned that if regional tensions persist, the resumption of air operations could be further delayed, affecting both passengers and business activities.
