Tehran (Monitoring Desk): According to sources in Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the proposed agreement between Iran and the United States is expected to be signed on the sidelines of the upcoming Group of Seven summit.
Sources said the G7 leaders’ meeting is being held in Évian-les-Bains between June 15 and 17, while there is also a possibility that the agreement could be signed during the summit or a day earlier on June 14, if no obstacles arise in the peace process.
A senior Iranian foreign ministry official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that Geneva has been agreed as the venue for the signing ceremony. He added that Iran will be represented by its chief negotiator and Foreign Minister, while the United States is expected to send a high-level delegation.
Reports further suggest that a high-level delegation from Pakistan’s foreign ministry may also be present as a mediator at this important occasion.
The G7 summit will also discuss broader global issues, including regional security, geopolitical challenges, peace and stability in Ukraine and Europe, global economic growth, and the future of artificial intelligence.
The G7 includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, while host France has also invited several non-member countries to attend the meeting.
