Iran Takes Firm Stance on Strait of Hormuz, Rejects Temporary Ceasefire

Tehran (Monitoring Desk): Iran has made it clear that it is not willing to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for a temporary ceasefire, raising fears of further escalation in the region.

According to Arab sources, a senior Iranian official stated that Tehran does not see any serious progress from United States toward a lasting peace, and therefore will not make any major strategic decisions in return for short-term measures.

He emphasized that Iran is not willing to act under pressure or deadlines and will determine its future course based on its own national interests.

The official also confirmed that a proposal for an immediate ceasefire from Pakistan has been received and is under review, though no final decision has been made yet.

Experts note that the Strait of Hormuz is a crucial global oil transit route, and any developments related to it could have direct impacts on the global economy and energy markets.
