Baku (Turkiye Khabar) – Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev met with a delegation led by European Union Commissioner for Energy and Housing, Dan Jørgensen. The delegation participated in the 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 4th Ministerial Meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council.
According to AZERTAC, Dan Jørgensen said that he was deeply impressed by President Aliyev’s speeches at the opening sessions of both meetings. The Commissioner emphasized the great importance of these meetings and stated that partnership with Azerbaijan is extremely valuable for the European Union, and they are eager to further strengthen it. He also expressed gratitude for the current level of cooperation.
The President referred to the visits of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the Commission, Kaja Kallas, and the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kose, to Azerbaijan last year. He noted that the active performance of the delegations is a clear demonstration of both sides’ desire to deepen cooperation in energy and connectivity sectors.
During the meeting, discussions were held on Azerbaijan’s role in Europe’s energy security, the expansion of the country’s exports to European markets, and cooperation opportunities in the fields of natural gas and green energy.
