Islamabad (Turkiya News) — Prime Minister’s spokesperson Musharraf Zaidi clarified that Pakistan does not need to declare war against Afghanistan, but cross-border operations will continue until ties between the Afghan Taliban and terrorist groups are completely severed.
In an interview with Qatari broadcaster Al Jazeera, Zaidi emphasized that these are not acts of war but defensive measures, and Pakistan will take necessary steps to protect its territory and citizens from terrorism emanating from Afghan soil.
He stated that anti-Pakistan extremism in Afghanistan is receiving support from the interim Afghan Taliban government. Zaidi further noted that instead of building trust, Pakistan will “construct a wall of fire” to ensure the safety of its land and people.
The Prime Minister’s spokesperson made it clear that the Afghan Taliban must eliminate the presence of extremists on their soil in accordance with the Doha Agreement; otherwise, Pakistan will undertake the operations itself. According to him, these measures will continue until the links between the Taliban and terrorist groups are completely broken.
