London (Sports Desk): Hull City have opened negotiations to sign Manchester United’s young midfielder Toby Collyer on loan, with talks currently underway between the two clubs.
According to British outlet Hull Live, discussions are progressing positively and Collyer could represent Hull City until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old midfielder was also close to joining Hull City last summer but instead moved to West Bromwich Albion. His spell at West Brom did not go as planned, as he managed to make only 12 appearances before returning to Old Trafford last month due to a minor injury, which led to the termination of his loan deal.
Hull City are now keen to bring Collyer into their squad once again in order to strengthen competition in midfield. He is capable of playing both as a defensive midfielder (No. 6) and in a box-to-box midfield role (No. 8).
Sources indicate that the English Football League (EFL) has given initial approval for the potential move, and Hull City officials remain optimistic that the deal will be finalized soon.
