Azerbaijan (Sports Desk): A tragic traffic accident in Romania has claimed the lives of seven people, confirmed by the Greek embassy. The deceased were devoted supporters of Thessaloniki’s football club PAOK, according to Greek City Times.
The accident occurred at 1:00 PM on the E70 highway between Caransebeș and Lugojel in western Romania. A minivan carrying 10 passengers en route to France for the PAOK vs. Lyon Europa League match collided head-on with a truck while attempting to overtake another vehicle.
Romanian authorities stated that the accident involved a truck, a tanker, the minivan (8+1 seats), and another passenger car. Emergency services responded immediately. The Romanian fire service dispatched a first aid vehicle, an extraction unit, a fire engine, and other personnel near Lugojel village.
