Azerbaijan (Sports Desk): Former Sevilla captain Sergio Ramos is close to becoming the new owner of Sevilla FC. He has made a formal acquisition offer along with his business partner, Martín Inc, a key member of investment group Five Eleven Capital.
Following the initial agreement, Ramos and his team have been given a special period to review the club’s financial records and complete the final takeover. Reports indicate that the offer is valued at approximately €450 million. Sources say this is a serious and developed proposal, not merely an expression of interest. Due diligence is currently underway, after which negotiations will move toward a full acquisition.
Ramos’ potential purchase would mark a historic return, as he began his career at Sevilla from 2003 to 2005 before gaining global fame with Real Madrid and PSG. He returned to Sevilla during the 2023/24 season, strengthening his personal connection with the club.
Reports indicate that Ramos recently met with club representatives and shareholders to share his long-term vision. The meeting lasted over two hours and received a positive response, forming the basis of the current preliminary agreement.
Sevilla has struggled with institutional instability and inconsistent performance in recent seasons, and Ramos’ potential acquisition could trigger significant changes at the board level. Current president Del Nido Jr.’s position is also under pressure. Final confirmation is pending, but negotiations are moving swiftly.
