Islamabad (Turkey News): Green Tourism Private Limited, established under the patronage of the Green Pakistan Initiative, is playing a significant role in promoting tourism development and investment across the country. Officials state that the organization is implementing a coordinated strategy to increase tourism’s effective contribution to the national economy.
The Green Pakistan Initiative was launched under the framework of the Special Investment Facilitation Council with the objective of attracting investment in sectors such as agriculture, livestock, and tourism. Within this framework, Green Tourism Private Limited was activated to modernize and restructure the tourism sector along contemporary lines.
According to the organization, several measures have been taken within a short period to position tourism as a driver of economic stability and international recognition. Following the launch of Green Tourism Pakistan in 2024, a notable increase in foreign tourist arrivals was recorded, which officials describe as a positive development.
Work is ongoing to establish integrated tourism zones equipped with modern facilities at key tourist destinations. Over just 18 months, agreements related to 78 tourism properties were finalized, while 15 out of 17 high-standard hotels and resorts have already become operational.
Green Tourism Pakistan states that regulatory gaps, limited promotion, and infrastructure challenges within the tourism sector are being addressed in phases to create a more favorable environment for investors. According to officials, these initiatives will help align Pakistan’s tourism industry with international standards and open new avenues for sustainable growth.
