Islamabad (Commerce Desk): The government has decided to provide relief to the public with the onset of the new year, and a reduction in petroleum product prices is expected from January 1.
According to official sources, a significant decline in international crude oil prices has prompted plans to lower the prices of petrol and other oil products for the next fifteen days.
Under the expected reduction, petrol prices could drop by PKR 10.60 per liter, falling from the current PKR 263.45 to approximately PKR 252.85 per liter. High-speed diesel is expected to decrease from PKR 265.65 to PKR 257.06 per liter.
Similarly, kerosene oil could become cheaper by PKR 8.92 per liter, while light diesel oil prices may decrease by PKR 6.62 per liter, reducing the price from PKR 180.54 to around PKR 171.62 per liter.
Officials stated that this reduction is part of measures to ease the burden on the public and control inflation, with final approval expected soon.
