Geneva Talks: Iran and US Agree on Guiding Principles for Potential Deal

Tehran (Monitoring Desk) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that in recent talks with the United States, both sides have reached broad agreement on a set of guiding principles to pave the way for a potential agreement.

According to Iranian state media, the second round of indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US lasted nearly four hours on Tuesday in Geneva. The talks were held at the residence of the Omani ambassador in Geneva, where both delegations exchanged messages through Omani mediators.

Speaking to state television, Abbas Araghchi said that a broad agreement has been reached on a set of guiding principles, which will serve as the basis for drafting the text of a potential deal. He added that the date for the third round of talks has not yet been set, as both sides will first prepare draft proposals and schedule the next meeting after their exchange.
