Dubai (Sports Desk): Extraordinary fan interest in the random selection draw phase for FIFA World Cup 2026 tickets has made history, setting new global records as the process reached its halfway point.
According to FIFA sources, more than 150 million ticket applications have been received so far from over 200 countries—nearly 30 times the number of tickets available. This demand is being described as far greater than the total number of spectators who attended all FIFA World Cup tournaments combined since 1930.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the 2026 World Cup will be the largest and most inclusive event in football history, serving as a symbol of unity among nations and a celebration of the global love for the game.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be held from June 11 to July 19 across 16 cities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, featuring 48 teams competing in 104 matches. The current ticket application phase will remain open until January 13, 2026, and FIFA has clarified that the timing of applications does not affect the chances of success.
FIFA added that ticket prices have been kept unchanged in this phase, and a special supporter entry ticket priced at USD 60 has also been introduced. Applicants who are unsuccessful will have further opportunities in upcoming phases, while premium tickets and travel packages will also be available.
