Turkey (Turkey News): President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey has maintained its momentum in defense exports in 2025, reflecting the stability and growth of the country’s defense industry.
President Erdogan stated that Turkey’s defense exports were just $248 million in 2002. After consistent growth over the years, this figure surged to $9.87 billion in 2025, marking an almost fortyfold increase.
He described the exports in the defense and aviation sectors as a source of national pride and a symbol of Turkey’s strengthening global identity. Erdogan added that Turkey has now become a globally recognized leader in the defense industry.
Highlighting a recent HRJET aircraft supply agreement with Spain, he said the deal exemplifies Turkey’s leadership and pioneering role. Erdogan further noted that the inclusion of HRJET in the defense inventory of a European or NATO member country will open new opportunities and markets for Turkey while reinforcing its global defense credibility.
