Ankara (Turkiya News): On Thursday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pledged to enhance economic, trade, and defense cooperation with Sudan. During the visit, Sudanese military commander Abdel Fattah al-Burhan was welcomed in Ankara; he has been actively involved in the destructive war with Rapid Support Forces for over two years.
In a statement issued from the Presidential Office, President Erdoğan said that cooperation between Turkey and Sudan will be strengthened across various sectors, including agriculture, trade, defense industries, and mining. No further details were disclosed during the meeting, except for the release of two photographs.
Erdoğan described the Sudanese crisis as one of the world’s most dangerous humanitarian disasters, highlighting the commission of serious crimes against humanity, particularly in the Al-Fashir region. He emphasized that Turkey will continue to provide military and economic assistance to Sudan to help mitigate the effects of the crisis.
