Cairo (Turkey News): During his official visit, Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented Abdel Fattah el-Sisi with Turkey’s first locally manufactured electric car, the ‘Togg’, as a gift. The ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace, where both leaders inspected the vehicle and posed for photographs.
According to the official statement, the gifted car was the Togg T10X model in the “Anatolia” color, symbolizing Turkey’s cultural identity. The handover took place after the signing of bilateral agreements and a joint press conference. President el-Sisi personally drove the car while President Erdogan sat alongside him in the front seat, and both leaders used the vehicle to attend the closing session of the Turkey-Egypt Business Forum.
The gift is being hailed as a symbol of Turkey’s industrial and technological independence, as the Togg is the country’s first locally produced electric car featuring advanced technology and environmentally friendly design. Analysts say the gesture signals an intention to strengthen industrial and technological cooperation between the two nations.
During the visit, the second meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council was also held, discussing collaboration in trade, investment, energy, industry, and technology. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing economic partnership, increasing bilateral trade, and expanding private-sector ties.
At the Turkey-Egypt Business Forum, business leaders discussed joint projects and new investment opportunities, further reinforcing the recent improvement and growing confidence in bilateral relations.
