Muzaffarabad (Turkiye News) Political activity has intensified in Azad Kashmir ahead of the elections, while the Election Commission has taken notice of transfers and development announcements.
On the request of Opposition Leader Shah Ghulam Qadir, the Election Commission has sought a response from the government within three days. The petition stated that transfers and announcements of development projects before the election schedule are equivalent to pre-poll rigging.
The Election Commission has directed the Chief Secretary and the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister to submit an immediate report, stating that violations of the code of conduct will not be tolerated.
The Commission said that all measures are being taken to ensure transparent conduct of elections and legal action will be taken against those who violate the rules.
