Egypt Raises Domestic Fuel Prices by Up to 30 Percent

Ankara (Commerce Desk): Egypt has increased domestic fuel prices by up to 30 percent, citing “exceptional” pressure on global energy markets caused by ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, which have disrupted oil supply and shipping routes.

The new prices, announced by Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, apply to petrol, diesel, and natural gas used in vehicles, according to foreign media reports cited by News.Az.

The ministry stated that the decision was made in light of the “exceptional circumstances arising from the geopolitical situation in the Middle East and their direct impact on the global energy market.”
