Istanbul (Showbiz Desk) – As part of an ongoing anti-drug crackdown in Turkey, several prominent figures from showbiz, sports, and business circles, including renowned actress Handé Erçel, have been taken into custody.
Istanbul prosecutors issued detention orders against a total of 16 individuals, which include former football club presidents Fikret Orman and Burak Almas. The Istanbul Narcotics Crime Division carried out the arrests.
Other notable names under investigation include business figures Hakan Sabancı and Kerim Sabancı, model Didem Soydan, and TV host Güzide Duran. Raids were conducted simultaneously at 16 locations across Istanbul, resulting in the arrest of 14 individuals, while warrants remain active for the remaining two.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office stated that the operation aims to protect societal values and the family system. Preliminary evidence suggests involvement in drug possession or facilitation. Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing, with further developments expected.
