Doctors’ Protest Strike Continues in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Hospitals

Peshawar (Turkey News) — The protest strike by doctors in hospitals across various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has entered its sixth day. Following southern districts, Mardan, and the Malakand Division, major hospitals in Peshawar, including Khyber Teaching Hospital, Hayatabad Medical Complex, and the Institute of Kidney Diseases Hospital, have also joined the strike.

Closure of OPDs and other services is causing severe difficulties for patients, with many traveling from distant areas unable to receive treatment. Hospital administrations have so far failed to resume services.

Dr. Asif, General Secretary of the Young Doctors Association, demanded that the 7ATA provisions be applied in the murder case of Dr. Mahwish and called on the government to provide a martyr package for Dr. Mahwish and Dr. Warda. He added that despite the Security Act 2010, the government has failed to enforce it, leaving doctors under severe mental strain.
