Tel Aviv (Monitoring Desk) Israel has decided to transfer individuals detained from the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was carrying aid for Gaza, to Greece.
According to news agencies, Israeli authorities had initially indicated that 175 individuals would be transferred to Israel. However, later under an arrangement with the Greek government, it was decided that they would be sent directly to Greece.
The development has raised concern in diplomatic and human rights circles.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar termed the interception of the flotilla in international waters and the detention of activists a violation of international law, issuing a strong response.
He said that obstructing humanitarian aid is an irresponsible act and the international community should take immediate notice of it.
The Foreign Minister demanded the immediate release of all volunteers and aid workers involved in the flotilla.
It is worth noting that yesterday the Israeli navy intercepted the flotilla vessels at sea, detaining several individuals during the operation.
