Gilgit (Turkiye Khabar) The Chief Election Commissioner has issued decisions on petitions related to various electoral constituencies in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The decision to hold re-polling in three constituencies of Diamer has been annulled, while the victories of both candidates of the Pakistan Peoples Party have been upheld. The petition filed by Haji Gulbar seeking re-polling against Pakistan Muslim League (N) candidate Malik Kifayat was also rejected.
In Nagar-I, the request for a recount of votes against the Pakistan Peoples Party candidate was dismissed. Similarly, in Ghizer, the application for a recount of votes filed by Pakistan Peoples Party’s Nazeer Ahmad against the Pakistan Muslim League (N) candidate was also rejected.
The Chief Election Commissioner has also ordered that the victory of the independent candidate in the Gilgit-III constituency be maintained.
