Istanbul (Turkish News): During his participation in the International Strategic Communication (STRATCOM) Summit 2026 held in Istanbul, D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation Secretary General Sohail Mahmood conducted several high-level meetings.
According to a D-8 statement, Mahmood attended the summit organized by Turkey’s Communication Directorate on March 27-28.
During the summit, Mahmood participated in various panels and met with Turkey’s Communication Director Burhanuddin Duran. In the meeting, he emphasized the importance of discussions at the summit for addressing global challenges. He also stated that the D-8 Organization and the Communication Directorate should explore ways to enhance cooperation in strategic communication and public diplomacy.
Additionally, Mahmood met with Bangladesh’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Zaheeruddin Spoon, to discuss strengthening media collaboration among D-8 member countries. He stressed that media plays a critical role in increasing the organization’s visibility and global as well as regional outreach.
