Melbourne (Sports Desk):American tennis star Coco Gauff overcame a first-set loss to defeat fellow American Hailey Baptiste and secure a place in the Round of 16 at the Australian Open.
The third-seeded Gauff delivered an impressive performance to win 3-6, 6-0, 6-3. She will now face 19th seed Kruz Molhova in the quarterfinals.
The 21-year-old Gauff, a two-time Grand Slam champion, has yet to progress beyond the semifinals at the Australian Open. After the match, she said she focused solely on her first serves and remained determined despite losing the opening set.
Gauff also commented on inappropriate behavior from spectators during the match and praised the performance of her fellow player, Hailey Baptiste.
