Beijing (Monitoring Desk): Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced that China will send a special envoy to mediate in the Middle East.
Wang Yi spoke via phone with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia and the UAE, praising Saudi Arabia’s stance on restraint and resolving differences peacefully. He emphasized that civilian protection must remain a red line in conflicts and that attacks on energy and non-military targets should be avoided.
The Chinese foreign minister also stressed the importance of keeping maritime routes safe for shipping and assured that China will provide all possible support to maintain stability in the region.
