Dhaka (Sports Desk): Following the death of former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Begum Khaleda Zia, an atmosphere of mourning prevails across the country, due to which the scheduled matches of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) have been postponed.
In a statement issued by the Bangladesh Cricket Board, it was announced that all BPL matches scheduled to be played today have been postponed, and a revised schedule will be announced soon.
Meanwhile, according to the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Begum Khaleda Zia passed away at a hospital in the capital city, Dhaka. She had served as the first female Prime Minister of Bangladesh and was the wife of former President Ziaur Rahman.
Party sources stated that Khaleda Zia had been suffering from various illnesses for a long time and was 80 years old.
