Berlin (Turkiye News) A grand and large-scale cultural concert was held in Berlin on the occasion of the 103rd birth anniversary of Azerbaijan’s national leader and founder of the modern state, Heydar Aliyev.
The event was organized jointly by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Germany, the Ministry of Culture, the Azerbaijan Diaspora Support Fund, and the Germany–Azerbaijan Alliance.
Speaking at the ceremony, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Nesimi Aghayev said that Heydar Aliyev played a historic role in preserving the country’s independence, establishing strong state institutions, and laying the foundations of national development.
He said that despite difficult conditions in the early 1990s, Aliyev’s visionary leadership brought stability to Azerbaijan and established the country as a reliable partner in the international community.
The ambassador further noted that Aliyev’s foreign policy significantly enhanced Azerbaijan’s global importance, particularly in the energy sector, while strengthening relations with Europe remained a key pillar of his strategy. He also described Heydar Aliyev’s official visit to Germany in 1996 as an important milestone in bilateral relations.
He added that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has achieved full restoration of its territorial integrity and sovereignty, fulfilling Heydar Aliyev’s vision.
Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Diaspora Support Fund Akran Abdullahiev also addressed the event, stating that Heydar Aliyev’s leadership strengthened state institutions, protected national interests, and enhanced Azerbaijan’s international prestige.
He said that today Azerbaijan–Germany relations are progressing successfully in the fields of economy, education, innovation, and culture.
The ceremony emphasized that the concert not only showcased the universal power of music but also reflected the friendship and mutual respect between Azerbaijan and Germany.
