Bangladesh Team Will Not Travel to India for T20 World Cup

Dhaka (Sports Desk): The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has taken a firm decision amid the IPL fast bowler release issue: the national team will not travel to India for the T20 World Cup.

Sources say the BCB will inform the government of its decision and, after consultation, will make an official announcement. The International Cricket Council (ICC) will also be updated on the situation. Bangladesh is expected to request that its matches be played in Sri Lanka, as the current schedule has World Cup matches in Kolkata and Mumbai, India.

The Bangladesh squad for the T20 World Cup has already been announced, with Liton Kumar Das as captain and Saif Hasan appointed vice-captain. In their group, Bangladesh will face England, West Indies, Nepal, and Italy.

Bangladesh’s first match is scheduled against West Indies on February 7 in Kolkata.
