Azerbaijan Providing Key Corridor for Regional Trade: Agriculture Minister

Baku (Turkey Khabar) Azerbaijan’s Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov has said that his country’s strategic geographical location offers important opportunities not only for bilateral trade but also for access to markets of third countries. Addressing the 9th session of the intergovernmental commission between Azerbaijan and Latvia on economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation in Shusha, he stated that Azerbaijan possesses modern infrastructure as a key transport and logistics hub in Eurasia, connecting the East-West and North-South corridors.

He specifically highlighted the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), describing it as a reliable and efficient trade route between Europe, Central Asia, and China, and invited partner countries to benefit from it. The Agriculture Minister also invited Latvian investors to take advantage of favorable opportunities available in Azerbaijan’s economic zones.

He further said that Latvia has extensive experience in livestock, dairy production, and forestry sectors, which provides significant potential for enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
