Azerbaijan Embassy in Mexico Maintains Contact Following Riots

Azerbaijan (Turkey News): Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that, following recent violent incidents linked to the Jalisco New Generation group, the embassy in Mexico is maintaining regular contact with the ministry.

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov told reporters that no Azerbaijani citizens have reported being affected so far. He added that the embassy is fully operational and, according to Mexican authorities, the situation is gradually returning to normal.

The riots began after a military operation that killed Nemecio Oseguera Cervantes, also known as “El Mencho,” the leader of one of Mexico’s largest criminal organizations. Subsequent clashes between security forces and cartel members sparked fires and unrest across Jalisco and other states.
