Baku (Turkiye Khabar): The next round of political consultations between Azerbaijan and Serbia is expected to take place in Belgrade by the end of the year, according to Damjan Jovič, State Secretary at Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Jovič recalled that in February this year, his counterpart Nevena Jovanović participated in multilateral consultations in Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku. He noted that the closest political consultations typically occur between ministries, and since Minister Marko Đurić assumed office and Jovič was appointed as State Secretary, these consultations have been held annually between the two countries.
He added that in 2024, the Azerbaijani delegation visited Belgrade, while the previous year the Serbian team took part in consultations in Baku. According to Jovič, this system of political consultations provides an excellent framework to review all aspects of cooperation between the two countries.
Jovič emphasized that there is a high level of mutual understanding between the ministries and that both countries fully support each other on matters of regional integrity and sovereignty. He described the consultations not merely as formal meetings, but as friendly gatherings of well-acquainted officials, which hold significant importance for both nations.
