Lahore (Turkey News) – Due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, air operations in Pakistan have not fully resumed.
At airports including Allama Iqbal International, Karachi, Islamabad, Multan, Faisalabad, and Peshawar, 65 flights to destinations such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Sharjah, Doha, Riyadh, Jeddah, and Madinah were cancelled, while 35 flights faced delays of three to seven hours. As a result, hundreds of Umrah pilgrims and thousands of passengers were stranded at airports. Airlines have started rescheduling flights in response to the emergency situation.
According to flight information, the sudden escalation of the war caused previously resumed air operations to be halted again. The ongoing tensions between Iran, the U.S., and Israel have led to the cancellation or mid-route return of hundreds of flights from around the world, including Pakistan, to the Middle East. Passengers are facing severe difficulties, and rising jet fuel prices have added to airlines’ financial burdens.
Before the conflict, daily flights operated as follows: over 1,200 from Dubai, 700 from Doha, 200 from Bahrain, 290 from Kuwait, 675 from Riyadh, 250 from Dammam, 485 from Abu Dhabi, and 300 from Sharjah. Currently, seven to eight airports are completely closed, and only 20 to 30 percent of flights are operational.
The Pakistan Airport Authority stated that in these emergency circumstances, all domestic and international airlines are being provided landing, take-off, and parking facilities in accordance with international regulations. Airlines are continuing to reschedule flights to ensure maximum convenience for passengers.
