US Nears Deal with Iran, Signals Possible Control Over Oil

Washington (Monitoring Desk) – US President Donald Trump has stated that progress is being made in negotiations between Iran and the United States through Pakistan, and a deal between the two countries is expected soon.

Speaking to journalists aboard his aircraft, Donald Trump said that both direct and indirect contacts with Iran are ongoing, expressing hope that a conclusion will be reached shortly. He claimed that Iran has allowed several Pakistan-flagged vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, with the number of such ships increasing to twenty.

In an interview with a foreign newspaper, the US President said that thousands of targets in Iran have already been struck, while some still remain. He indicated that taking control of Iran’s oil is also a possible option, and that the key export hub of Kharg Island could be targeted.

Donald Trump further stated that a change in government in Iran has effectively already taken place, and that a new system is emerging under current circumstances, with which the United States is engaging differently. He claimed that the new leadership is more understandable compared to the previous one.

The US President reiterated that gaining control over Iran’s oil remains his preferred option, although there are differing opinions on the matter within the country.
